There is a way, I am using Adguard/Pihole on my netwok over Raspberry Pi. In the Adguard interface I blocked all the servers where the stream was being sent from the mi cameras making it accessible over local network only. Possibility of operating several cameras at the same time, dividing the screen into 1, 4 or 9 windows.
Yes, the Mi Camera is absolutely safe both in terms of privacy and it terms of performance. As far as data is concerned, you have complete control over recording and the settings. No camera in the smae price range comes even remotely close to this device.
